Enrico Pieranunzi & Bert Joris – “Afterglow”- Cd-presentatie

Hoe bijzonder willen we het hebben in de intieme Catharinakapel. Een duo van internationale topklasse met een cd-presentatie. De Italiaanse pianist/componist Enrico Pieranunzi samen met de uit België afkomstige trompettist en arrangeur Bert Joris. De Europese top in onze kapel.

De samenwerking tussen Enrico Pieranunzi en Bert Joris gaat al terug tot 1999 en dit is wat Enrico er zelf over zegt:

“1999. On the occasion of the recording for the Dutch label Challenge of my quintet CD “Don’t forget the poet” I meet for the first time Bert Joris and I am deeply impressed by his way of playing, his tone, his musicality;
2003. On the occasion of some concerts of my “Fellinijazz” program I invite Bert to join my quintet and he gives to the group the imprint of his tone, his way of playing, his musicality;
2014. Bert -who in the meantime has become one of the best arrangers in the world- invites me to join the Brussels Jazz Orchestra. Along with the orchestra the two of us (he as an arranger and trumpet player, myself as a composer and pianist) record the CD “The music of Enrico Pieranunzi”;
2018. After having been talking about a possible duo Cd for almost two decades Bert and I eventually enter a recording studio to record a duo CD. This is “Afterglow”, recorded for “Challenge”, whose music the two of us are happy to present now in live performances”

Wij zijn blij dat wij dit bijzondere duo naar Nederland hebben weten te halen. Speciaal op ons 5-jarig jubileum Jazzdagen Harderwijk.
